Mickey Borden, Founder
Mickey has spent close to 30 years in the insurance industry, and she knows that behind every policy is a family counting on it. She founded Borden & Associates around 2008 on a simple idea: treat every client like family. Business owners would get honest guidance, and their employees would get a real person to call when they had a question.
That idea built the agency. It also brought her son Steve into the business in 2010, and he took over in 2020. Mickey is still involved today and brings decades of experience and the same personal touch she started with.
Away from the office, family comes first for Mickey too. She has family in Texas (we don't hold it against them that they're Longhorns fans) and in Washington state, so she's happy to talk about Oklahoma, Texas, or the Pacific Northwest whenever you have a minute.
Steve Borden, Owner
Steve grew up in Norman, moved out of state for his dad's job, and came back to Oklahoma for college. Norman has been home ever since. He joined his mom at the agency in 2010 as an insurance broker and took over as owner in 2020. Steve and his wife have been married for over 22 years and raised their three daughters in Norman schools. All three graduated from Norman High, and their middle daughter graduated from the University of Oklahoma.
